Woking Crematorium

The privately-owned Woking Crematorium is located in the village of St John's. The first purpose-built crematorium in the countryside was founded in 1878 by the royal physician to Queen Victoria, among others.

A beautiful and traditional building, the chapel for the crematorium offers space for 80 seated and 20 standing guests. The chapel has many accessibility features such as a hearing loop, ramps, disabled toilets and Braille service books.

The surrounding 10-acre grounds are well-established and have a lake and separate areas named for famous poets. The gardens offer a serene place for contemplation, and include ornamental shrubs and rose gardens, as well as benches and other dedicated ornaments to memorialise your loved one. Alternatively, you could choose a gilt-lettered leather plaque panel, a commemorative posy vase or simply an entry in the Book of Remembrance.

The first Sunday in July marks an annual service of remembrance in Woking Crematorium's chapel that all may attend.
